AUSTIN HOUSE:
Is a 13 -Bed Residential/Transitional Facility. The program's overview is
based on helping women re-establish themselves in their community for a period of three months to four years. This program supports women of all ethnics and nationalities, who may be confronted with emotional, financial or other personal crisis. Our program offers women the opportunity to relocate to other states. We also accept women from other states to participate in our program.
Criterion for Acceptance:
All applicants must be drug-free and on the road to recovery for a minimum of 3-7 days, provide 1 letter of recommendation from a reputable agency in support of early recovery efforts, complete a physical and psychological evaluation, and provide verification of current health and mental status. All clients will undergo a mandatory urine check.
Admission and Eligibility Procedure:
For admission, clients must be employed or seeking employment. In addition to admission, clients must be seeking to improve their education through either a College, GED or Trade School program. All perspective clients must sign a contract for zero tolerance for violence, and zero tolerance for alcohol and drug abuse. There is parking available in front of the house. All appointments and visitors must be scheduled at our headquarters located on 437 Willow Street Suite 3A, Waterbury, CT. Persons who are interested in the program must call headquarters (203) 437-7079 for an intake appointment over the phone. After the initial intake you will be given an appointment for assessment and evaluation. Your name will be placed on a waiting list. During such time you must provide the agency with one letter of recommendation stating you are drug free. You must also submit proof of your physical examination and psychological evaluation, a valid social security card, birth certificate, and state court and legal papers.
